Ana and Andrew are lead instructors at Franktown Meadows Riding Academy, a USHJA recognized riding academy.

Lessons are available to purchase as a single lesson or in a lesson package:

  • Individual Lessons – the per-lesson price when a lesson is purchased and scheduled on an individual basis (versus as part of a lesson package).
  • Lesson Packages – a package of 10 consecutive weekly lessons purchased in advance. Otherwise the individual lesson fee will apply

EVALUATION LESSON

$75 individual lesson / $650 lesson package

Your first lesson at Franktown Meadows will be an Evaluation Lesson. This lesson is an opportunity to introduce you to our program and allow your instructor to assess your current skill level. Afterward, the instructor will discuss your goals in order to develop a program to best suit your needs.

1/2 Hour PRIVATE LESSONS

$75 individual lesson / $650 lesson package

Students at any riding ability are welcome to take private lessons offering one-on-one instruction.

BEGINNING & YOUNG RIDER LESSONS

In order to emphasize safety while maintaining a close attention to detail, the Franktown Meadows Riding Academy requires all beginning riders and children (age 5 and under) to participate in private riding lessons.

Tiny Tots

$65 individual lesson / $550 lesson package

A walk/trot private lesson required for all young riders (age 5 and under). The focus is on improving their riding skills as they develop the muscle and balance required to handle a small horse or pony. Students will learn basic terminology used in horsemanship. This 45-minute session is comprised of instruction on tacking up and untacking the horse as well as approximately 30 minutes of riding time.

Walk Trot

$75 individual lesson / $650 lesson package

A walk/trot private lesson designed for riders (age 6 and up) who are just beginning. The focus is on improving their riding skills as they develop the muscle and balance required to handle a small horse or pony. Students will learn basic terminology used in horsemanship. This is a 30-minute riding lesson.

GROUP LESSONS

Students (age of 6 and up) who have proficiency in horsemanship skills such as tacking up and untacking, as well as riding skills such steering and posting the trot are eligible to join group lessons.

Walk, Trot, Canter

$75 individual lesson / $500 lesson package

Students (age 6 and up) will continue working on correct body position and proper handling of the horse. Riders will learn to recognize the correct diagonal at the trot, perform circles, figure eights, and obstacle courses to challenge their abilities and build a strong foundation. When the rider is ready, cantering will be introduced. Students will continue to learn terminology including horse colors, parts of the horse, and parts of the saddle and bridle. This lesson ranges from 45 minutes to 1-hour depending on the number of riders. Maximum of 5 riders.

Beginning Jump

$75 individual lesson / $500 lesson package

Students will learn to ride straight lines, use their arena, and square their corners in order to beautifully execute a full course of crossrails. Riders will review and learn new elements of horsemanship. This lesson ranges from 45 minutes to 1-hour depending on the number of riders. Maximum of 5 riders.

Advanced Jump

$75 individual lesson / $650 lesson package

At this level, students will surely take great pride in their success. Riders can look forward to learning more technical maneuvers and riding more challenging horses while continuing to grow in their chosen sport. This lesson ranges from 45 minutes to 1-hour depending on the number of riders. Maximum of 5 riders.

Beginning riders, or those that do not lease or own a horse, can schedule lessons with the riding academy.
